Villa St. Francis Assisted Living was founded in Milwaukee in 1990 by the Felician Sisters, a religious order established in Warsaw, Poland in 1855 to meet the needs of the poor, the orphaned, the sick and the elderly. We are seeking to hire a Pastoral Care Associate.
32 - 40 hours per week.
Pastoral Care Associate Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required. Graduate or accredited theological courses preferred.
Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with a letter from their parish Pastor.
Knowledge of Catholic Social Teaching and principles, spiritual and sacramental practices within the Roman Catholic tradition, as well as other Christian denominations and faith traditions.
1 to 2 years’ experience in pastoral care in a health-related ministry preferred.
Two units of Clinical Pastoral Education accredited by NACC or ACPE preferred.
Demonstrated ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions.
Knowledge of certifying and regulating agencies’ regulations of CBRF facilities and the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
Computer and software knowledge to effectively perform the tasks required (Microsoft and Google platforms, data entry).
Pastoral Care Associate Job Summary:
Function as a pastoral resource to residents, families, and staff.
Establish effective pastoral and trusting relationships with residents which ensures an emotional.
Communicate effectively to proactively identify, anticipate, prevent, or address issues and inter-department concerns, problems, or conflicts.
Distribute communion and acts as lector at Catholic mass during week.
Coordinate the distribution of communion to residents.
As with finding priests, coordinate with pastors from the faith community to lead an ecumenical service.
Serve as sacristan for daily mass during the week.
Support residents in devotional needs.
Coordinate programs of seasonal faith-based services.
Create and lead Service of Remembrance for staff, residents and families.
Represent Villa St. Francis at visitations and funeral services, when available, and coordinates condolence communications.
